Old Merges With New in Shakespeares Home Town

Britain’s Royal Shakespeare Company has a new home in a familiar space. The theater company, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2011, has unveiled its newly renovated space. The 1000-seat venue has retained some elements of the 1930s art deco building but has combined them with modern technology to create a complex the company says is fit for the 21st century. Jennifer Glasse visited the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre in the bard’s home town of Stratford-Upon-Avon and filed this report.
